View full detailsBassists cover the lower regions of a soundscape and add body and weight to any type of music. Without good bass, music will sound thin, lifeless, and lack that rhythm and groove that makes tunes enjoyable.
Like other live performers, bass players rely on in-ear monitors to hear themselves onstage. Good IEMs can help bass players hear their bass guitars with great detail, clarity, and texture - information bassists can use to invoke the right emotions onstage.
Our collection of the best IEMs for Bassists features in-ear monitors like legendary bassist Nathan East's signature series, FiR Audio's high-tech Electron range, and custom-molded options from 64Audio.
The IEMs you'll find in this collection feature unique driver setups and tuning to cover every bassist's needs.
Bass guitars cover the lower bass to midrange frequencies, so bass players will want an in-ear monitor that delivers great sub-bass, mid-bass, and midrange tuning to get clarity and detail from every bass note.
There's a fine line between bass quantity and quality in in-ear monitors. Go with more quantity, and you’ll get a lot of bass without much detail. Opt for quality and you get tons of detail yet a lean and thin sound.
To get the best bass presentation, you need well-tuned multi-driver or single dynamic driver in-ear monitors like the ones featured in this collection.
For the perfect blend of sound and comfort, check out the custom-molded IEMs from 64Audio in the section below.
Custom-molded in-ear monitors offer an unbeatable combination of sound, comfort, and durability, making them the obvious choice for any serious performing bassist.
Built using an accurate impression of your ear’s unique anatomy, custom-molded IEMs offer a glove-like fit that disappears in your ear, resulting in comfort and fit you won’t get with universal in-ear monitors. Sound is improved as well, thanks to the superior fit and noise isolation, and durability is a step above due to more stringent quality control.
Premium features come at a premium price, so expect to pay extra for custom-molded in-ear monitors. With that said, custom-molded in-ear monitors are well worth your money, as you’re getting unbeatable quality, sound, and comfort by going with custom-molded IEM.

64Audio's A and N series in-ear monitors are some of the best options for personal or professional use. Artists like Alicia Keys, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, and U2 trust 64Audio's IEMs for their onstage sound, and you should, too.
64Audio's A4s, A6t, N8, and Nio in-ear monitors are great options for serious performing bass players.
The A4s, A6t, and N8 in-ear monitors are custom-made to fit your ear dimensions and feature unique driver setups and sound profiles to suit your sonic preferences.
The Nio is also a great option - a premium universal in-ear monitor sporting a bassy sound signature and the familiar 64Audio industrial shell design. Perfect for any bassist looking for a perfect fit and exceptional bass presentation.
Get top-tier fit, comfort, build quality, and sound that you can depend on at home, in the studio, or onstage with 64Audio IEMs.

The 64Audio N8 is a custom-made signature IEM made in collaboration with renowned bassist and producer - Nathan East. If the N8 is good enough for a legend, you can bet it's good enough for any bassist.
The N8 is a nine-driver hybrid IEM, featuring one dynamic driver for the bass, seven balanced armature drivers for the mids and upper mids, and a Tia balanced armature driver for the highs.
As you would expect from an in-ear monitor designed and tuned for a bassist, the N8 delivers bassy sound with a smooth and natural tone.
The bass you get from the N8 is weighty, yet never sounds bloated and boomy. The midbass tuning is a bit lean to give bass notes more texture and detail, but the highs are clear and sparkly, thanks to the dedicated Tia high driver.
IEMs with a bass emphasis tend to sound muddy and veiled, but not the N8. Thanks to 64Audio’s multi-driver setup and masterful inputs from Nathan East, the 64Audio N8 IEM delivers a rich bass-centric sound profile that will satisfy even the most picky bass players out there.

To get the best bass guitar presentation from an in-ear monitor, bass players need good sub-bass response and good mid-bass tuning.
An in-ear monitor with these qualities will deliver deep, rumbly low-end and a clear, textured mid-bass that will satisfy any bassist.
The Empire Ears Legend EVO is one of the best bass-heavy IEMs in this collection. The Legend EVO’s elevated sub-bass and mid-bass tuning delivers deep-reaching bass notes with a ton of texture - qualities that will make any bassist swoon.
Although the overall tuning focuses on the bass regions, the Legend EVO still delivers a good amount of mid-range and high-end clarity.
Vocals are a bit recessed and sound further away in the mix, while cymbals and other high-frequency sounds will sound clear but lack a bit of the shimmer you expect from more balanced IEMs.
The Empire Ears Legend EVO IEM might not be the most detailed in-ear monitor, but it doesn’t have to be. It delivers a satisfying bass presentation that bass players will truly enjoy.
Price: $1,699.00
64Audio is known for reference sounding IEMs like the legendary U12t. Unlike the U12t, the Nio features a fun, bass-centric tuning that perfectly complements bass guitars.
The Nio is tuned to deliver a warmer, smoother tonality. Its bass-centric tuning translates to a thicker and meatier sound, where vocals are pushed back in the mix, while cymbals and other high-frequencies sound airy and detailed but never thin or sharp.
Bass guitars sound great on the Nio. You’ll get deep, rumbly bass and weighty, textured tones out of the Nio as you go up and down the fretboard. The bass here is well-defined and detailed, so you’ll get a ton of detail from your playback.
The Nio is a 9-driver hybrid IEM like Nathan East’s signature IEM, the N8. But unlike the N8, the Nio is universal only, which means you’re getting 64Audio’s tried and true industrial shell shape like the ones you'll find on U-series in-ear monitors. The Nio’s shell is a bit thinner than higher-end 64Audio universal IEMs, so comfort and fit should be slightly better.
If you're a bassist who's in the market for a dynamic driver hybrid that delivers a ton of high-quality bass, the 64Audio Nio is worth the look.

FiR Audio’s Electron 12 is a single dynamic driver in-ear monitor loaded with FiR Audio technologies such as Tactile Bass, SwapX, ATOM, and Rigid Tech.
Tactile Bass improves the bass experience you get from the Electron 12, while ATOM helps relieve pressure by venting out extra air from the IEM. SwapX, on the other hand, is FiR Audio’s swappable faceplates tech, which employs magnets for a quick and easy swap, while Rigid Tech makes it easy to replace the 2-pin connector.
Moving on to sound, the FiR Audio Electron 12 features a mild v-shaped tuning, with emphasis on the bass frequencies.
Bass frequencies are where the Electron 12 shines. The sub-bass on the E12 reaches deep and rumbles with tons of texture. Meanwhile, the Mid-bass is clear and accurate, which means you’ll hear a ton of that natural mid-frequency vibrations from bass notes around this region.
Moving on to the midrange, you get a ton of clarity and detail from instruments and vocals, but notes never sound thin or dull.
Vocals are pushed a bit forward in the mix due to the elevated upper midrange on the E12, but thanks to the well-tuned low-end response, you get a ton of body to give notes a weighty sound.
The treble is nice and clear on the E12. The presentation is smooth, but there's enough high-end energy to keep cymbals and other high frequencies sounding clear and sparkly.
There's nothing like the rumble, slam, and texture of a well-tuned dynamic driver IEM like the FiR Audio Electron 12. Bassists looking for the most natural bass tones will want to give this IEM a try.

Noble Audio Spartacus is a Balanced Armature/Bone Conduction hybrid in-ear monitor that delivers some of the most impressive bass you can get from an in-ear monitor.
Powering the Spartaus are six drivers - three Sonion Balanced Armatures for the bass and mid-bass frequencies, two Sonion Bone Conductors for the mid-range, and one Sonion Balanced Armature for the high frequencies.
Despite having two Balanced Armature drivers to handle the bass frequencies, the Spartacus brings a ton of bass quantity and quality to the mix - perfect for highlighting bass guitars.
There’s a lot of bass - a lot. You get tons of rumbly sub-bass yet fast and punchy beats in the mid-bass. Because of the elevated sub-bass and mid-bass frequencies, bass guitars sound big and heavy yet detailed.
You hear and feel the bass vibrations as they play out, but you also get well-defined impact from bass slaps and taps, thanks to the well-tuned midrange and highs.
The Noble Audio Spartacus is a bass-heavy IEM that delivers a detailed mid-range and treble. It’s an all-around great pick for bassists and performers looking for a high-end set that can handle any music with ease.
Price: $600.00
The Noble Audio Stage 3 offers exceptional sound and comfort at a reasonable price. At just $600, you’re getting a high-quality resin shell and the well-balanced sound Noble Audio is known for.
Stage 3 is a three-driver IEM that employs a dynamic driver for the bass and two balanced armature drivers for the midrange and treble.
With the dynamic driver handling the bass, you get high-quality tight bass with good impact and slam. Bass guitars sound slightly leaner in presentation, which brings out a ton of texture and detail from bass notes. There’s enough sub-bass to give weight and body to bass guitars, but never to the point of overwhelming the rest of the mix.
Stage 3 sounds slightly recessed in the midrange, but there’s a slight boost in the upper-mid/lower treble area. This midrange balance translates to an energetic sound that gives instruments and vocals a more prominent presence.
Moving on to the high frequencies, the Noble Stage 3 has a well-extended treble to give instruments and female vocals a shimmer and shine. While there’s some extension here, the overall sound is still smooth.
Overall, the Noble Audio Stage 3 is a great in-ear monitor for bassists that delivers a near-reference sound with the fast and clean tuning profile that Noble Audio is known for. Bass guitarists will love the Stage 3 for its clean and detailed presentation.

The Aspire 4 is 64Audio's newest IEM, built using a durable and lightweight ABS mold and paired with a robust stainless steel nozzle for a comfortable fit. Driving its sound is a four-driver setup - a 9mm dynamic driver and three Balanced Armature drivers for the midrange and treble.
Bass guitars sound exquisite on the 64Audio Aspire 4. The dynamic driver delivers natural rumbles that reach deep into the sub-bass, all while keeping mid-bass tones tight and detailed. You'll hear a lot of texture in bass lines, while bass slaps and taps sound tactile and impactful.
The midrange and treble on the Aspire 4 are well-balanced. The midrange is tuned to deliver a more forward presentation for intimate vocals, while the treble is smooth and airy.
The Aspire 4 comes with 64 Audio technologies for improved comfort and sound. Apex Core vents out in-ear pressure for a comfortable fit, while the waveguide ensures the Balanced Armature drivers deliver pure sound directly to your ears.
Nothing comes close to a dynamic driver when it comes to deep powerful bass. The 64Audio Aspire 4's 9mm dynamic driver delivers some of the best bass you can get from any IEM in the same price range, and its robust build and tech package ensure you get the best sound for live performances.
Everything went really smoothly and I'm enjoying the headset I purchased. It shipped quickly and arrived well packaged. I had a question about my purchase and received a quick response from the seller. I would buy from HiFiSoundGear again.
Unexpected as in very pleasantly surprised at the sound quality coming out of these :)
I took my Mega5-EST and hooked em up wirelessly and don't miss the wire sound AT ALL!! IMO the wireless sound was 98% of the wired sound without the PIA of the wire. Unless you have some amazing source gear, which thanks to Adam at hifisoundgear I do, you would be hard pressed to hear a massive difference. Especially with a phone as your source.
I did A/B noble Fokus Prestige vs Go pod w Mega 5 and gotta say l, there is more balanced sound with the Go pod chain then the Prestige on its own. To be fair the Mega 5 punches WAY above its price... so the 2 are a match made in heaven.
I find the connection very stable as well. I've used my iPhone AAC/SBC as well as with FiiO BT11 to get other than Apple codecs and was pleasantly surprised as well.
The ear hooks are very comfortable. Actually prefer them to the wire hanging over my ear with a tie behind my neck. For some reason that's hard to get used to and pulls as I wear loose shirts. The hooks stay in as I like to move around a bit. Also the weight is better distributed than other wireless IEMs as the components are in the hooks. The prestige, unless I have foam tips, which I'm not a fan of, will pop out of my ears when I move around. These stay stable and I do not have to re-seat the IEMs to get that great bass nearly as often with other wireless IEMs.
Battery level has been all day 10 hrs so far with intermittent breaks and still have 28% left.
The case also is deep enough to fit the Mega w hooks as it charges which is very convenient. Some IEMs may be too big but they fit with a tad bit of room to spare.
Of course having the flexibility to swap out your favorite IEMs as needed is awesome!!
5 stars for the Go pod and more importantly 5 stars to Adam and his team for such amazingly awesome customer service!! You guys ROCK!! Thanks :)
The iFi Audio iDSD Diablo 2 is an absolute masterpiece in the world of portable amps. It delivers an audio experience that redefines what’s possible in a compact, travel-friendly device.
To all the "haters" out there who mention that the 5180mw output is an overstatement and the "balanced" is not a true balanced output... I say whatever... it drives anything I throw at it with aplomb! FostexTH900mk2, ZMF Caldera Open and Closed, ANY IEM my friends and I have tried ...too many to list. If you need more power than this portable titan.... well you may have hearing loss. And it drives all I mentioned without using "beast mode" (they refer to it as Nitro (1 of 3 settings)). If anything, it could use a lower gain option / IEM match for some sensitive IEMs.
The implementation of BT 5.4 (supports all codecs) is a welcomed addition for quality, but in general, the distance it can be from the source is very small for consistency. That is not a Diablo issue, but a BT5.4 issue IMO.
As for the sound quality...simply unparalleled. I have compared this to desktop headphone amps in the same price range and I would put it toe to toe with them. It even ran close to my buddy's Burson Soloist 3x!!! and the Diablo 2 is portable :)
I run it using A&K SP3000T and it oozes warmth and richness in the lows and highs WITHOUT covering/smoothing anything up in the mids, which is my jam.
It is on the heavier side and will still fit in a pocket... barely. built like a brick. At the limit of what I would like to carry but totally worth it! I get about 6 hours of the 8 rated battery with constant listening, no Bluetooth on, hard wired, IEMs / Caldera tested on the battery life.
In conclusion, the iFi Audio iDSD Diablo 2 is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s the ultimate portable amp for those who refuse to compromise on sound quality, power, or versatility. If you’re serious about your audio and want the best experience on the go, the Diablo 2 is the perfect choice.
Shout out to Adam, a massive THANK YOU!!! for your absolutely OVER THE TOP customer service and shopping experience :) :) Seriously, your dedication and attention to detail have been nothing short of exceptional.
With all the online ordering over the years, HifiSoundGear provides the best service I have encountered. It was as though they were good friends. They responded so nicely to all my questions about the product and shipment. As it works out, while I liked the IEM's, I concluded they were not sufficiently different from the ones i had been using. Again, for the process of returning and getting a refund, they could not have been nicer. Buying from them was a first rate experience.
Recently had a great experience with Adam and Laura. I requested a price match for the FiR KR5 and it was such a painless process. Adam and Laura’s communication is top notch! Adam even sent me a personal thank you video. In my experience, this level of service is hard to come by these days. I highly recommend going through HifiSoundgear for your audio needs….I know I will be going forward! Thanks Adam and Laura!
The quality of service, level of help provided, and overall customer satisfaction is beyond anything I have experienced. I cannot say enough good things about the people who belong to this company!
As for the U4S, these are my first foray into 64 Audio but I am SO thankful that I got to experience them! My goodness the soundstage, bass response from the m15 module, and overall quality is just great!
Please, buy from these wonderful people! And if you can swing it, get a set of U4S! You will not regret it!
Only complaint is the cable. For the price, I expected better, but it works well and is just fine.
Thank you HiFi Sound Gear! I look forward to purchasing more from you in the future!
These are the closest TWS gets to pure IEM listening. You get the wide soundstage. They scale quickly. They have that satisfying bass slam often missing in TWS. The layering is just right and resolution is mesmerizing. Oh yes, you get the convenience of taking them on the go and they are truly comfortable. Noble has achieved a superior status in my eyes with the FoKus Prestige. I look forward to listening to them on my walks when I don’t have to take my DAP. Adam is one of the greats in this business. His commitment to customer service is exceptional. You aren’t a customer, but a client. He helped me after losing my first pair and just went above and beyond to ensure that I was shipped a new pair in less than two days. I am completely satisfied and impressed. You will be too. Thank you and looking forward to my future purchases from your establishment.
