These terms apply to all HiFiSoundGear Home Demo (5-day in-home audition) reservations. By reserving a demo, you agree to the terms below.
1. What the demo is
A Home Demo lets you try a select piece of gear in your own home for 5 days before deciding to buy. Demo units are a limited reservation pool and are shared between customers.
2. The listening fee
You pay a $75 listening fee at checkout to reserve a demo. It is non-refundable, but if you purchase the same model within 30 days of your demo, we credit the full $75 toward that purchase.
3. Your 5-day window
Your 5-day window begins the day the demo is delivered to you; your return-by date is printed on the packing slip. Shipping is free both ways and a prepaid return label is included in the box.
4. Authorization hold
When you reserve, we place a refundable authorization hold on your card for the value of the unit. It is released once we receive the demo back on time in like-new condition, and is only charged in the situations below.
5. Returning the demo
Ship the demo back by your return-by date in like-new condition, with all original packaging, cables, adapters, and accessories. In-ear products are returned with used ear tips removed.
6. Late returns
- We send reminders before and on your due date.
- If not shipped back within 2 days after the due date, a $15/day late fee applies.
- If 7 or more days past due, the audition converts to a purchase: we charge your card the full retail price (less your $75 credit) and the demo becomes yours. No return.
7. Damage or missing items
If the demo is returned damaged, incomplete, or not in like-new condition, we charge the repair or replacement cost from your authorization hold.
8. Eligibility & limits
Home Demos are available to U.S. customers only, one active demo per customer at a time, and are non-transferable. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a reservation. Buying a brand-new unit is always available separately and ships immediately — reserving a demo never holds up a purchase.
9. Hygiene
Every demo unit is inspected and sanitized between auditions. In-ear monitor demos ship with fresh ear tips for each customer.
